Change your viewpoint and take a look at the production yield rate in the report. Wouldn't we reduce the material cost by improving the yield rate? - 悪いアイデアではありませんが、海外から材料を輸入する場合、輸送時のトラブルなどのリスクがあります。
視点を変えて、レポートにある生産の歩留まり率に注目してください。 歩留まりを向上することで材料費のコストを削減できるのではないですか？

- そうですね、気づきませんでした。
まずは、材料を加工する前に不良を検出する仕組みを検討してみます。
ところで、最後にTakashiが「I didn't notice it.（気づきませんでした。）」と言いましたが、「気づく」という意味の英語にはrealize、recognize、notice、figure outなどがあります。
それぞれ少しずつ意味に違いがあるので、以下を使い分けの参考にしてみてください。
- 「realize」・・・思っていなかったAだと気づく

例） I realized my mistake. （間違いに気づいた。）
- 「recognize」・・・前に経験した（見たことがある）Ａだと気づく

例） I didn't recognize her at first because she has changed so much. （彼女はすっかり変わってしまったので、最初は彼女だと気づかなかった。）
- 「notice」・・・五感によって気づく

例） I noticed the battery is almost dead. （電池がなくなりかけているのに気づいた。）
- 「figure out」・・・考えているうちにだんだん気づく

例） I figured out how to use the sensor. （そのセンサの使い方に気づいた。）
